Telehealth

How does Telehealth work?

Once you have scheduled an initial Intake Assessment, you will be provided login details to connect through a secure and HIPAA compliant platform to connect to your therapy sessions. You can gain access to your telehealth session through the use of your phone, tablet or computer.

Is Telehealth a positive option for me?

You may benefit from telehealth if:

-You want more flexibility with your schedule due to work, school, parenting, caregiving or other considerations.

-You want to broaden your search for a therapist based on your preferences (i.e., a therapist’s treatment approaches, areas of specialty, gender identity, racial identity, similar lived experience, etc.) in order to feel more comfortable and connected with the therapist.

-You value a sense of added confidentiality and anonymity. This may be especially important for you if you or a loved one are a public figure in the community such as public safety/law enforcement, medical professional, educator, elected official, entrepreneur, etc.

-Your physical health restricts you from attending sessions in person such as experiencing significant pain, limited mobility, compromised immune system, etc.

-You prefer to have more control over your choice with who you see and not have this determined by your insurance provider.

Tips for A Successful Telehealth Session

-Choose a private and confidential setting that is quiet and free from distractions and interruptions. Please ensure no one is in the room with you or can overhear you.

-Always use a secure, password-protected internet connection on a private computer, tablet, or mobile device. Connecting to public network may compromise the security of your session.

-Make sure your computer, tablet, or mobile device is fully charged or plugged in and running the most updated software.

-Close all background applications on your computer, tablet, or mobile device to ensure the fastest internet connection and clearest video image.

-Never share your telehealth platform username or password with anyone.
