I completed my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) in 2005 from Loyola University Chicago. Shortly after graduating, I moved abroad to gain a more global perspective through my work experience and travel. These experiences offered the invaluable opportunity for me to gain more understanding and build further compassion for individuals and their very unique personal histories and perspectives. I have learned at the end of the day, despite how many differences people may have, we all share the similarity of wanting to feel valued, heard and loved by others.
Upon my return back to the US, I began practicing psychotherapy and have been doing this since 2010. I started out as a generalist with the clients I saw, and over time I developed a specialty working with individuals that struggle with chronic health and pain issues including oncology. I also began to see patterns with trauma, depression and anxiety in connection with chronic health issues. Over time, the interconnection between the body and mind became more apparent and this led to me pursuing my Yoga Teacher Training and becoming a RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher).
Although I moved from Illinois to Florida, I will always consider myself a Midwesterner at heart. I hold an active license in both Illinois (# 149015503) and Florida (# SW17428) and offer Telehealth to individuals in both states.
When I’m not busy seeing clients, I enjoy:
-Being outdoors! Enjoying nature and some natural Vitamin D.
-Walking, Running, Hiking, Cycling, Kayaking… any excuse to be outside!
-Spending time with my family including 4-legged members.
-My morning cup of coffee (which I savor for hours).
-Reading for leisure.
-Travelling and seeking out new places and activities to explore.
